Yes, we are, pretty much, aware of the fact that the previous variants of Honda Pilot have tried (even, too hard, if you would ask us for an opinion) to look like something that they weren’t. But, not this time, this time is the other way around, actually.
This time Honda Pilot has a real traditional crossover appearance. To tell you the bare truth, it is a more honest approach, than has ever been before. Coupled with the bunch of pretty handle and useful brand new features and really wide range of brand new improvements, all combined are providing this third-generation Pilot a much better choice for a three-row large crossover than was the case ever been before.
Changes and redesign
Newly made Pilot remains fateful to its roots, meaning – stay a three-row crossover SUV. It is planned to be available in five level trims, named: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring and the new Elite trim level.
If you opt for a base, LX model, you can expect to get: 18-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, rear privacy glass, cruise control, active noise cancellation, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 60/40-split folding third-row seat, a seven-speaker sound system, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a USB port, a rearview camera and an auxiliary audio jack.
In case that you opt for the slightly upgraded trim level, the EX one, besides the basic gear, you can expect to get: adds intended for the automatic headlights and fog lights, heated mirrors, newly designed LED running lights, keyless ignition and entry, three-zone automatic climate control, the Honda Lane Watch blind-spot camera and an eight-way power adjustable driver seat. It also has: HondaLink Smartphone system, an 8-inch, full colored, touch screen interface, as lightly upgraded seven-speaker sound system coupled with two additional higher powered USB ports, the Intelligent Traction Management, satellite radio and Pandora Internet radio control.

All of these EX-L options, which we have counted above, come standard on the Touring. Besides of these features, Touring offers and roof rails, automatic engine start/stop, driver memory settings, a nine-speed automatic transmission, a 10-speaker sound system and second-row sunshades.
When it comes to the most exquisite trim level, the Elite on, it further adds 20-inch wheels, an automatic high-beam headlight control, automatic windshield wipers, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross traffic alerts, a panoramic sunroof, heated second-row captain’s chairs, heated and ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
Engine and specs
It is planned that every single 2016 Honda Pilot will be available with the same engine option. It will, the most likely, be a 3.5-liter V6, which is considered to be more than capable to produce up to 280 horsepower and to deliver at the same time, around a 262 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is considered as being standard.
