Lately there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the possibility that Chevrolet will make sixth gen of Camaro Z28. All of our senses are tingling from even a notion that we could be behind the wheel or even owning one of these cars. Just imagine sitting behind 650 HP 6.2 L supercharged V8 engine “strolling” around race track on new suspension that makes it flow like milk and tires that stick to the surface like glue.
The Z28 was introduced in 1967 as a track ready Camaro with better performance than the regular one with stripes on the hood and trunk, styled rally road wheels, and a 302 cu in 4.9L V8 engine. Later models (1980 and 1981) were updated and more stylized with included air induction hood scoop with an intake door that opened under full throttle. There has been a lot of changes trough out time some of them bad some of them good, but past is past latest models are the one that thrilled us so much, and the 2017 one will not be any different. We are giving you alleged information and specs for the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 that supposed to hit the road sometime during next year.
2017 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 exterior design
Exterior of the 2017 Camaro Z28 is going to change but not too much, because why change something that is recognizable from outer space while doing 100 MPH on a track? According to the information circling on the web Chevrolet is going to give Camaro Z28 2017 a more “buffed up” aero kit that will make it even fiercer by adding a big front splitter, fatter rear diffusor and a sizeable rear wing. As you can read so far “big and chunky” is in and wanted. To beef up this ride Chevy is also working on flared wheel arches, lightweight alloys with massive, stickier rubber component for extra grip. Body is, allegedly, going to be lowered a little for more downforce and added an updated suspension that can fight out even the hardest corners. The perfect weight distribution (50:50) is to be expected because this is supposed to be track ready car and big high performance carbon-ceramic brakes that will stop this beast dead in its track.
Interior design of 2017 Camaro Z28
Since 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is mostly a track ready car not much update is to be expected on the interior of it. Pretty much everything will remain the same on the inside, only updated with newer materials, electronics, systems etc. Seats are getting redone in a sportier sense because they will need to hold you firmly while the beast of an engine launches u forward, and we overheard that they are working on a cozier and more comfortable ride with sufficient room inside to provide ultimate comfort on longer hauls. Buyers will be pleased to know that in this sixth gen model they will find all standard infotainment features like sound and audio system, Bluetooth/ Wi-Fi Connectivity, Air conditioning, etc., but a lot more effort is going to be put in safety features that are being incorporated adequately to give the drivers next gen sense of security.
Engine and specs
Since the current selling model of Z28 is powered by previous gen Corvette Z06 power plant 7.0L LS7 V8, and since it is a main competitor to the new Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang, we received some speculative information that implies that the sixth gen of Z/28 is supposed to be powered by a 650 HP 6.2L supercharged V8 Engine that comes from all new Corvette Z06 variant with power output being somewhere between 550 HPto 600 HP. This boost in power is mainly from the engine itself, but there are some other bits that added to this like updated light weight adaptive suspension, lighter alloys, lighter and more agile body and updated transmission, according to the buzz online. All of this gives a better output and result of the car, but it also somewhat improves the MPG ratio which makes it a win-win situation both for customers and the manufacturers.
Release date and price
Release date is a big topic online, lot of unconfirmed information, lot of speculations and Chevrolet isn’t helping much with its secrecy about the new Chevrolet Camaro Z28, but judging from the info we dug up it is going to happen, but when is yet an unknown. Some estimate that it will be most likely the end of 2017, but a greater chance is that it will be sometime in first half of 2018. Price should be somewhere from $75.000 for the basic trim and up to $90.000 for the top of the line trim.
